Liz has been active in our village from 2006 until 2020 as an owner and has now transitioned to being Medical Director for ElderHealth & Living Memory Village. Liz oversees the medical and nursing needs of our village. She typically sees new residents for a comprehensive assessment prior to moving into one of our nine memory care homes.
Liz von Wellsheim, MSN, MA, GNP, has two masters degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: one as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and the other in Social Gerontology. Liz has more than 30 years of experience in the field of geriatrics.
In 1987, Liz started her own in-home care management company (In-Home Elder Care, Inc.), which she sold ten years later upon accepting the position of Manager of GNP Services at the Center for Senior Health at PeaceHealth Medical Group.
Liz has served on the Oregon Geriatric Society board for 10 years (and as president from 2006-07). Liz is also a past president of the National Conference of Gerontological Nurse Practitioners and served on their board for five years.
Liz is a seasoned speaker, presenting lectures and workshops locally, regionally, and nationally, to a variety of audiences on topics related to elder care. Listen to her interview with KLCC’s Barbara Dellenback here.
Liz provides coaching for families dealing with a diagnosis of memory loss or other eldercare issues.
