Can residents stay at EHL indefinitely?

It is always our hope, and most often the case, that EHL can be the final home for our residents. Sometimes a resident’s physical needs exceed the level of services we provide. When this occurs, our staff work closely with the resident’s family and other care communities to coordinate a smooth transition.

What happens if a resident gets sick?

Our Medical Director, Liz von Wellsheim, GNP works closely with the residents’ primary care providers to help manage each patient’s memory loss disease and general health problems. Residents are seen on-site by our GNP and nursing staff to reduce the stress of transportation to-and-from a primary care provider, especially when they are sick.

Does EHL have a Medicaid contract?

Yes, we accept Medicaid, subject to availability. Medicaid is a payment source for new residents and current residents who exhaust their private funds. The portion of monthly room and board charges for general care that a resident receiving Medicaid benefits is responsible to pay to EHL is determined by Seniors & People with Disabilities.

Why does EHL have a pharmacy fee?

Our contract pharmacy bubble packs each resident’s medications individually, creates medication administration recording, and is available 24/7. When residents bring in their own medication bottles/packages, it requires additional staff time and expense to administer the medications. When this occurs, you’ll be charged an additional fee.

Does EHL accept pets?

Yes, we are pet friendly! We recognize the comfort pets bring to our residents. Each pet is required to pass a temperament test to make sure he/she will be a good fit for the home. A non-refundable pet deposit is required.

Are EHL flat fees adjusted as care needs change?

No. Our monthly rate is a flat fee and includes: living accommodations, meals, planned activities, personal care, and medication management.
